Memorial Day

He swims!! He was NOT afraid of the pool at all this year, and I am so proud!! He can REALLY stop growing up so fast tho. Breaks my heart that my baby's not a baby anymore. :( And yes, the girls were there too, but I was so SHOCKED at his "no fear" that I only got pics of him! LOL

Jeb was a little scared.

The cycle starts here....thanks Glenn!! :)

Summer Fun!

Kick it off with a "splash" right? It was HOT HOT HOT the week before Justin left, and then got all kinds of COLD again yesterday. Well, it warmed up again today, to the satisfaction of the girls, we bought this slip-n-slide and do we ever have THE perfect backyard for it!! We have a little slope and that makes for an easy "slide"!!

Don't these faces say it all??

And some action!

Also, chopped off about 7" of my hair today!! YAY!! (Falyn is still in training! LOL)

Kid's Say the Darndest...right?

Faith...that little crack up. She comes up with some of the funniest things...well yesterday she got onto her daddy good!!

We were leaving the house, and Justin grabbed a can of Coke to take with him, and in all seriousness, she turned and looked at him and said... "Daddy, you can't drink and drive. It's against the rules."

OMG!!! LOL I was laughing so hard!! Crazy girl!!

-------

On a sucky note....Justin checked onto the ship today...he leaves May 19th for 6 months. Ugh!

Point Loma - Cabrillo National Park

A CHILLY afternoon at Cabrillo National Park. Faith was passed out cold in the car, so we didn't hang out long. Falyn was cold and forgot her sweater, but we managed to enjoy the view and sights.

Going Green

Have you done it yet? Well, why not? Almost everyone that reads my blog has small children, and I KNOW you think about their futures! I have been "on a mission" over the last year and a half to do what I can for them and at the same time for their futures. I have gone "green" in SO many ways...one you saw very recently, by trading in my Tahoe for a more fuel efficient vehicle. Granted, it's not a hybrid, and that was a HUGE contender, but the Hybrid Altima, and the one we got are not that much different in gas miles.

How else, I have my own shopping bags, that I have been using for longer than 7 months at the grocery store. We eat about 75% organic and locally grown foods and are discussing growing some of our own veggies and fruits. We ride out bikes ALL the time!! Probably about 30-40 miles a week!! Justin wishes the track to work was easier from here, so he could ride to work. We may figure that out. We have ONLY the "squiggly" light bulbs in our home. We have lo-flo shower heads and toilets. We recycle 90% of our trash, and even though Justin's not too sure about it, we are discussing and researching composting. SO many other things, that I can't even name them all!! Now, I have signed up to stop our junk mail, and now you can too!! Look to the right...Green Dimes in on a mission to save trees by eliminating junk mail!

So, in light of Earth Week....what are YOU doing to save our planet?? GO GREEN!! Just a few small changes in your life could do SO much!! :) To get you started, here is 10 Easy Ways.

So long nasty gas bill!!

Yea baby!! The highlight of my weekend!!! GOODBYE to my beloved Tahoe (and if you know me at all...you know I LOVED my Tahoe!), and the CrAzY gas bill....hello beautiful car!!!! My brand spankin' new fully loaded (mack daddy!) Nissan Altima...SWEEEEET ride!! LOL Ok, so that was real goofball sounding, but you NEED to see this car!! It's NICE!! (and yes, Justin made fun of me for pulling it into the street and taking these pics!! LOL)

And one yesterday as we were about to drive it off the lot.

The Big 3-0...yea, yea....

"yay" I'm over it. Didn't even really feel like my birthday today, we had SUCH a busy day!! Justin ran in our church sponsored 5K Mud Run....and yes, that means THRU the mud!! Here's a good break down of the course: http://www.sandiegomudrun.com/map.html Justin called "Zone 4" the BEAST! Basically, that part was ALL uphill! No Thank You!! He did GREAT tho! I was/am SUPER proud of him!! He finished in 36:55!! Kick butt!! I would have been WAY longer than that!! LOL Since I knew he was going to be running, I signed up to be a volunteer, so the morning started off at 8am passing out shirts to all the 3500+ runners...about 95% of the way thru that, I was pulled away to be the starting line "organizer"....yea, you try hurdling 3500 runners, and make them listen to your instruction! HA!! Then we corralled them into the finish line shoots at the end. It was overall a really fun, but WAY hot day!! The temp gage on my truck said the outside temp was 103, when we were leaving about 3pm. Oy!! We came home, showered, rested a bit and then went to dinner at Forever Fondue. YUM!!

Anyhoo...here are some photos of the day!!

YIKES!!! He's in there somewhere!!

YAY JUSTIN!! The last mud pit at the finish line!! :)

INSANELY HOT!!!!

9 Years!

And counting! LOL So we have "tried" to stick to the anniversary "theme" each year, just for fun, when it comes to our gifts to each other...(psst! Next year is diamond!! whoot!!)...this year is "pottery, leather, tin, aluminum". Well, when we moved to Houston, my pottery chimnea got CRUSHED. I was so sad!! So, Justin looked everywhere today and didn't find another clay one, but he found a metal one...so that still fits the theme a little right? LOL

PS> Watch your mailboxes for a note about next years anniversary!! ;)

A day with Chrissy!

Well, you've seen me blog about her! Falyn's godmother, and one of my best friends from high school! Her husband is also in the Navy, stationed in Lemoore, CA. His parents live here in San Diego, so that means that we will get to see her more often than we have in the last 7 years!! YAY!!! We had a nice day at the park, and chowin' down at Luigi's for lunch! (yum!) It was great to finally meet her babies too, and now she has #3 on the way!! Can't wait to do it again!!

(please excuse my goofball child!)

We're in!! OMG!!

So, we can't get too attached to this house...they called us to get into housing ALREADY!!! HOLY MOLY!! So, they told us we were first in line after the top 10%...the next week, I check our status online...we are #4 PEOPLE!! Mind you, this is about 4 days after moved into this house!! LORD!! So, we thought a month at least, right? WRONG!!!!! They called us on Monday, gave us an address...and said we had 24 hours to accept! ARE YOU KIDDING??? YES!!! We should have just stayed at Jebbye's and paid her rent!! So, our NEW move-in date is now March 25th! We will be out in the neighborhood of Pacific Beach. From the end of our street, we will be able to watch the fireworks at Sea World...yes, just about FIVE houses to the end of the block and watch the fireworks over Mission Bay. (ok, I know I am killing Angie now, so I will stop)....just trying to draw her back out here!! LOL Here's our little (bigger than where we are now) 4 bd in Admiral Hartman! Someone still lives there, so we couldn't see the inside, but I checked it out on Google Earth, and since it's on the "bend" of the street, we got the bigger back yard...not quite what we have here (or close to what Ang had on NASNI), but it will do! The girls can ride their bikes!! YAY!! Anyway...come visit whenever you want!! That is ALWAYS an open invitation!!!

Romo's First Haircut!

I found a great little groomer right down the street, Petco wouldn't even give him a chance! They said that he was too young!! Rude!! These ladies were great, and of course, loved him! They even said that he was falling asleep during it!! Whatever, he's too young! :P He looks SOOO different!! I know Jenn can appreciate the "sadness" of his puppy color being gone!! I have to admit, I was a little shocked at the change, but he's SO stinkin' adorable!! We're now just hoping he grows into his ears! LOL

Love ya! Off to spend the day down at Mission Bay...with the beautiful green grass and ocean breezes....jealous yet?? Oh yea, and I think the high is in the hi 60s, low 70s!! neener, neener, neener!!!

Oh yea, and I stole this pic from Jebbye's blog...this is when we were staying with them, Jason snagged this pic of the 3 of them (Jeb, Faith and Chandler) chillin' with a juice box!
