President Elect Obama

There is no denying that I am truly disappointed in the outcome of this election and fearful of the outcome. I am not convinced that this election was not won because of and not despite of race. However, the people have spoken and the choice has been made. My prayers will be that President Elect Obama does NOT increase taxes, does NOT pull out of Iraq prematurely and that he does NOT move our country into a socialist society. I will support our President, as I always do. I may not agree with him, but I will respect him. Senator McCain's concession speech was one more example of the honorable man that he is and I would hope that everyone gives him the kudos he so richly deserves. Conservative Americans need to stay strong in their convictions yet reach across and work with President Elect Obama and pray for him and for the leadership we have just put in office.

Obama gave an eloquent acceptance speech and I pray that he spoke truthfully. We have to ban together and I hope that Obama will follow through on his word that he will reach across the aisles and work together as we are all Americans. Interestingly, I noted that he said that he will have false starts and people won't always agree with how he is doing things, but that he will always work for the people. Too bad the same people cheering him on haven't shown the same respect to President Bush.

I will support Obama as our President and hope that Ronald Reagan's words echo in his ears.

"You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage-earner by pulling down the wage-payer. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves." - Ronald Reagan

God Bless America!
