We grew butterflies!!
Well, technically, only one lived. But it was fun! Chrissy sent the girls a butterfly kit for their birthday's. We got a little "cage" and a cup with 5 caterpillars. They crawled around for about 5 days and then hung themselves upside down and changed into crystalids. THAT was weird to see them do that!! When they started to emerge, it was overnight, and I guess the cat heard them moving around in there. So, needless to say, only one pretty lady made it. She was dainty, and we enjoyed her. I let her go on Thursday in the front yard. She fluttered around for a little while and then left. It was pretty cool. Thank you Chrissy! We enjoyed it!!

It is fun and interesting to watch. I did it with my third grade class a few years ago.

Solana got one of those kits from her friend Tyler for her birthday too. She loved watching them, but only two survived :( Two were born with deformed wings, and got eaten by a bird as soon as we released them :( The other two had better luck though, and it was beautiful to see them peacefully and happily fly away :) Cute pics of the girls with their butterfly!
